ZERO Patients, Employees, and Visitors Harmed During the Storm
A year can make a world of difference. We know because 12 months ago — Hurricane Harvey devastated the Texas Gulf Coast — and we were all changed forever. As individuals, as families and as communities. At HCA, we turned from day-to-day health care providers to neighborhood heroes. And, as a family of hospitals, we connected and came together in new, remarkable ways.
Care is what defines us.

The commitment and dedication displayed before, during and after Hurricane Harvey rings true in every story shared. We are thankful to be able to share those experiences with you and would be honored to hear about yours.
We Come Together in Times of Need
Thousands of our HCA Family members on the Gulf Coast experienced devastation as a result of Hurricane Harvey. Even after the storm passed, we continued to support one another through the HCA Hope Fund, an employee-run and supported public charity to help fellow HCA employees who have been affected by financial hardship.
Through the Hope Fund:
- Nearly 2,000 grants distributed totaling $2.6 million in assistance.
- 8,525 hours of PTO donated by 372 employees
- 16 employees requested and received a total of 851 hours of donated PTO
