The volunteers at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake are an integral part of our hospital team. They are committed members of the community who care about making a difference in the lives of others. By sharing their time and expertise, our dedicated volunteers help us deliver compassionate and high-quality care to our patients, families and visitors.
Volunteer opportunities
We have day and afternoon shifts available in all areas of the hospital, including:
- Emergency department
- Waiting areas
- Guest ambassador roles at registration and information desks
- Clerical services
- Patient experience
- Coffee and tea cart
- Snack and activity cart
- Popcorn machine
Volunteer programs and requirements
Adult volunteer program
Adult volunteer requirements:
- Complete and submit a volunteer application
- Must be at least 18 years of age; high school-aged volunteers may only participate through the VolunTEEN program in the summer
- We understand that schedules can change, but we ask our volunteers to commit to a minimum of one four-hour shift per week
- Must agree to a six-month commitment
- Successfully pass a criminal background check
- Attend a mandatory orientation
VolunTEEN program
The VolunTEEN program runs during the summer months, beginning in June and ending in August.
VolunTEEN requirements:
- Complete and submit a volunteer application
- Must be between 15 and 17 years old
- Must be currently enrolled in school and in good standing
