HCA Houston Healthcare Specialty Hospital Medical Center, is a long-term, acute hospital founded in 1994 with 16 beds. Today, Medical Center Specialty has grown into a 65-bed long-term, acute hospital providing continuum of care to patients beyond the Houston metropolitan area and surrounding states.
HCA Houston Specialty Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). We accept Medicare, private insurance and managed care policies (Medicaid). We are located on the third and fourth floors of the North Building within HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center (formerly Park Plaza Specialty Hospital). This affords us advantages of a short-term, major acute care hospital, yet allows the benefits of a smaller, more individualized hospital setting.
Our commitment to care
HCA Houston Specialty Hospital helps to bridge the gap in the healthcare continuum by providing a level of cost-effective, acute long-term care that addresses the patient’s goals and treatment plans. Our patients have multiple medical needs and require extensive medical care and/or rehabilitation for an extended length of time. We are committed to provide personalized quality care to them and their families.
