Our 20-bed intensive care unit (ICU) is equipped with the latest technologies and digital monitoring equipment for continuous monitoring, high-tech beds and advanced communications systems. Our ICU rooms are filled with natural light and cherry wood wall units and wardrobes. Other features include:

  • Bedside commode and sink
  • Large family lounge
  • Wireless internet access

Our skilled nurses and critical care physicians help ease the anxiety brought about by critical situations that require admittance to the ICU.

ICU visitation and hours

We have an open visitation policy for the ICU, meaning that loved ones are welcome to visit on any day at any time with the exception of 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

HCA Houston North Cypress takes all the necessary precautions to not compromise the wellbeing of our patients, family members and visitors. Guidelines for the waiting room and ICU patient rooms are as follows:

  • No visitors under the age of 12
  • Only two visitors at a time
  • No overnight visitors
  • Beverages must be in a covered container or bottle
  • No food is to be taken into the patient rooms

The ICU, or intensive care unit, is the department of the hospital where critically ill patients are housed for treatment by a multidisciplinary medical team. Patients in the ICU may require specialized medical equipment and close monitoring by a nurse.
