Joint conditions can be treated in various ways, depending on the severity of pain and damage to surrounding cartilage. At HCA Houston Healthcare, conservative methods are often preferred, and may include physical therapy and steroid injections. When these forms of treatment do not help reduce joint pain or improve mobility, joint surgery may be required. Within our specialty areas, we provide access to a variety of joint care surgeries, including:

  • Arthroscopy of the shoulder, hip and knee
  • Hip replacement
  • Knee replacement
  • Other surgeries of the hands, wrists, feet and ankles
  • Shoulder replacement

Across the Greater Houston area, we perform thousands of joint replacement surgeries every year. One of our flagship facilities is Texas Orthopedic Hospital, a regional leader in total and partial joint replacement surgery that is continuously recognized for providing the highest level of care in this specialty. Texas Orthopedic Hospital is one of the only specialty hospitals in the country focusing solely on orthopedics, and is one of 12 HCA Houston Healthcare hospitals and outpatient locations we have across the Greater Houston area. This also includes HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood, a Blue Distinction Center for knee and hip replacement as designated by Blue Cross Blue Shield.
