Patient Services

We’re dedicated to providing you with dedicated, quality care and ensuring your hospital visit with us is as comfortable as possible. All patients have access to the following:

  • TV and telephone
  • Wireless internet
  • Housekeeping services
  • Hospital safe for storing valuables

Patient meals

Good nutrition plays an important role in your health and recovery process. Your menu is diet specific and prepared by our culinary staff and registered dietitians. In addition, guest trays can be ordered within two hours of every meal.

Interpretive language services

We believe that clear and accurate health information is essential to compassionate healthcare and the comfort of patients. To assure quality care, medical interpreter services are available at no cost to you.

Our interpreters must be qualified to perform interpreter services in a healthcare setting. In the event that qualified interpreters are not available in-person at our hospital, qualified telephonic medical interpreters are also available.

In addition to language assistance, we provide American Sign Language (ASL) medical interpreters, as needed.

Periodically, vital documents may be translated into different languages, including:

  • Financial assistance applications and policies
  • Consent forms
  • Discharge instructions
  • Education materials
  • Patient rights handbooks
  • Admission documents

Mail and Flowers

Cards and flowers sent by your family and friends are brought to your room daily. If the hospital receives your mail after you are discharged, we will forward it to you. Flowers delivered after you leave are returned to the florist.

Patient Portal: MyHealthOne

MyHealthOne is your secure online source for accessing your health information and more. Here, your health information is available online 24 hours a day allowing you to pay your bill, view hospital lab results, preregister, access health information and view details about your recent visits to our facility.

Visitor information

We welcome visitors to show support for a friend or loved one staying at HCA Houston Northwest, and are here to provide them the support needed to make the most of their visit.

Visiting hours

Healthy family and friends are welcome in most areas of the hospital during daily visiting hours. Healthy, supervised and well behaved children may visit as well. Some of our units, such as intensive care, have special visiting hours because of the critical nature of the care being given.

  • General Visiting Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Women’s Atrium: Fathers may visit 24/7.
  • Mother-Baby and Postpartum Unit: 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Medical Intensive Care Unit: Immediate family only. Open visiting hours, except from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. during shift change.

After 8:30 p.m., visitors must get a pass from Security. Security passes are available in the following departments:

  • Front Lobby Desk: 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Emergency Department Security Office: 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

One support person may stay overnight in a patient’s room, with the exception of ICU. Overnight visitors must receive a visitor’s pass each night from the security guard located at the Emergency Department entrance.

Parking

Visitor parking at our hospital is free. There is a free parking garage across from the hospital’s entrance on Peakwood Drive. Dial 0 for the hospital operator if you would like to have our security personnel escort you to your vehicle. We also offer free valet parking for our patients, family members and visitors at the front lobby, which operates Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., excluding holidays.

HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest provides amenities that patient and visitors may need during a hospital stay:

  • Access to an ATM in the Women’s Atrium lobby

Dining options

Our hospital cafeteria is open daily and located on the first floor of the main hospital building.

Hours:

  • Breakfast from 6:30 to 10:00 a.m.
  • Lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Dinner from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m.

There is a Subway located in the Women’s Atrium that is open daily, except for holidays.

  • Hours: Daily from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Gift shop

Our gift shop is stocked with items to help make patients feel more comfortable or brighten their day. Our gift shop is located on the first floor of our main hospital building and carries an array of merchandise, such as plants and flowers, balloons, candy, and items for newborns.

Hours are:

  • Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday and Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Flowers

Sending a fresh bouquet of flowers is a great way to lift the spirits of those who are spending time at the hospital and give them a reminder that you are thinking of them. You can send flowers for any occasions, from a new baby’s arrival to get-well bouquets for patients at the hospital.
