As a hospital-based program with a new, state-of-the-art unit, we provide the best rehabilitation experience in Montgomery County. Licensed physical therapists provide all therapy at Conroe Regional, and our therapist-to-patient ratio is one-to-one.

Inpatient rehabilitation

The Inpatient Rehabilitation Center at HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe is a 20-private-bed unit. An interdisciplinary team of specially trained physicians, rehabilitation nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, licensed dieticians and social workers/case managers work together to treat a variety of conditions including:

  • Stroke/cerebral vascular accidents
  • Pulmonary disorders
  • Orthopedic injuries or surgeries
  • Sports injuries
  • Amputations
  • Cardiovascular diseases
  • Deconditioning
  • Arthritis

Along with spacious private rooms, our facility features a training kitchen, kitchen bathroom, therapy gym and advanced rehabilitation treatment equipment.

Physical therapy

Physicians, discharge planners, family, staff, case managers or social service professionals may make referrals to the Inpatient Rehabilitation Center.

To be eligible for inpatient rehabilitation, a patient must:

  • Require at least two disciplines of therapy (physical, occupational and/or speech)
  • Require 24-hour nursing care
  • Have potential for improvement in function and/or mobility
  • Be able to tolerate three hours of intensive therapy each day
