Pediatrics
Pediatrics is the medical care of infants, children and adolescents. Pediatricians are specially trained to treat diseases, behavioral problems and mental health issues as they relate to children. Pediatric care includes well check-ups, vaccinations and much more.

At HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake, we have a dedicated pediatric emergency room (ER) and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) capable of caring for the most fragile babies.
Clear Lake pediatric services
Our board-certified physicians, surgeons, nurses and specialists are pediatric trained and understand that children's medical and emotional needs are different from adults.
Types of pediatric care we offer
Among our staff, you will find pediatric critical care nurses, child life specialists, dieticians, pharmacists, case managers and respiratory therapists.
We have a pediatric ER that is open 24/7, and is separate from our adult ER. The pediatric ER has a dedicated waiting room and treatment space, so your child can receive care in a comfortable, child-friendly environment specially designed for pediatric patients.
If admission to our inpatient pediatric unit is necessary, our pediatric hospitalists will work directly with your child's pediatrician to guarantee they receive thorough medical attention and the best treatment option for your child.
For our tiniest patients, our Level III NICU is capable of providing specialized newborn services for babies born before the 26th week of gestation.
Above all, our goal is to provide advanced, compassionate care and support services across various pediatric specialties, including:
- Cardiology
- Gastroenterology
- General surgery
- Infectious diseases
- Neonatology
- Neurology
- Neurosurgery
- Orthopedics
- Otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat)
- Pulmonology
- Urology
We also offer child life services that provide a supportive environment where children can gain a better understanding of the hospital, surgery and medical treatments.
