Anti-reflux surgery

Our surgeons are highly skilled in treating gastroesophageal reflux disorder commonly known as GERD. GERD occurs when a person’s lower esophageal sphincter is malfunctioning. If medication is ineffective in managing symptoms, surgical intervention may provide relief.

Bariatric surgery

Our bariatric surgeons are specially trained in performing a wide range of surgical weight loss procedures. We offer a fully accredited Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program by the American College of Surgeons. Heart and vascular surgery

HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center is home to one of Houston's leading cardiovascular surgery programs. We offer a complete range of cardiac care and vascular care, from advanced imaging to rehabilitation and minimally invasive surgical options. We are accredited as a Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI by the American College of Cardiology. We are also nationally recognized by U.S. News & World Report for the treatment of heart failure.

Outpatient surgery

Our outpatient surgery services department is a hospital-based outpatient medical and surgical department located on the fifth floor of the South Tower of HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center. This unit offers a business/admitting area, a prescreening area and both private and semi-private rooms.

Our surgical unit serves both adult and pediatric outpatients who are admitted for surgical procedures done under general or local anesthesia. Patients receiving general anesthesia are recovered initially in the post anesthesia care unit (PACU) and discharged from the outpatient surgery floor.
