Meet our executive team

Yasmene McDaniel

Chief Executive Officer

Yasmene McDaniel joined HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in October 2022. Since joining the team at HCA Houston Southeast in July 2021, McDaniel has cultivated strong relationships with medical staff and community leaders, and has been instrumental in the growth of service lines and provided oversight for multiple facility construction and expansion projects.

Prior to joining HCA Houston Southeast, McDaniel served as the chief operating officer at Corpus Christi Medical Center (CCMC). During her tenure at CCMC, she grew the hospital's robotics program, oversaw the opening of ER 24/7 Rockport and supported trauma designations for multiple facilities.

She has also held several leadership positions with Sparks Health System in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Jackson Health System in Miami, Florida, and Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, Texas. She is a board member of the Southeast Texas Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

McDaniel earned two master's degrees in business administration and healthcare administration from Texas Woman’s University and she has a bachelor of science degree from Baylor University.


Musaddiq Waheed, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Musaddiq Waheed, MD, joined HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in January 2024.

A seasoned leader in hospital medicine, Dr. Waheed has more than 18 years of healthcare experience. Previously, he served as the assistant CMO for HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland and as a regional medical director for Envision Healthcare in Houston.

Dr. Waheed earned his medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical College in his native Pakistan, followed by his residency in family medicine at Wheeling Hospital (now part of West Virginia University Medicine). He also earned his Physician Executive MBA from the Haslam School of Business at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He completed a quality and safety fellowship and an improvement advisor program at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. Dr. Waheed is a Quality Texas Foundation board member and serves as a regional Baldrige examiner.


Renee Ford

Chief Operating Officer

Renee Ford joined HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in December 2022. She previously served as vice president of operations at HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball where she provided oversight for all ancillary departments as well as strategic leadership for the oncology, women’s and rehabilitation service lines.

Ford brings 38 years of hospital operations experience to her new role. She has worked within HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division for over 25 years, holding various leadership positions including division ethics and compliance officer, a role which she held for 11 years.

Dedicated to helping the greater Houston community, Ford has a strong history of volunteering and supporting several not-for-profit charities including Meals on Wheels, Houston Food Bank, Champions for Hope, Families Feeding Families, American Heart Association and March of Dimes. She has been an active member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Community for 33 years and has served in numerous roles.

She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Healthcare Financial Management Association and Texas Speech Language and Hearing Association. Ford also graduated from HCA Healthcare’s Executive Development Program in 2019 where she was recognized as the Outstanding Associate of the Cohort.

Ford received her bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and her master’s degree from the University of Houston.


Demetri Magoulas, MBA

Chief Financial Officer

Demetri Magoulas, MBA, joined HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in November 2023.

Magoulas most recently served as assistant CFO and chief staffing officer at HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest, where he was instrumental in the successful opening of the hospital's first free-standing emergency department. Before joining HCA Houston Healthcare, Magoulas served as the business operations manager at Texas Children’s Hospital where he led a 173-bed NICU. Before his move to healthcare, he worked as an accountant and lead financial analyst at both Goldman Sachs and BMC Software. Collectively, he has more than 20 years of accounting and finance experience.

Magoulas received his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Florida where he focused on finance and economics. He earned his master's degree in business administration from W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.


Gurvir Saini

Chief Nursing Officer

Gurvir Saini joined HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast as chief nursing officer (CNO) in April 2022. In this role, Saini provides executive-level leadership for nursing operations, including management of all nurses and nurse leaders to ensure consistency in the hospital’s practice standards. She also spearheads initiatives related to nursing colleague engagement, quality, patient safety and overall patient experience across the hospital and affiliated sites of care.

Saini most recently served as assistant CNO at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake. She has also served as director of nursing at HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe and director of nursing for the medical-surgical, intermediate medical care and stroke units at HCA Houston Clear Lake.

Saini received her bachelor's degree in nursing and master's degree in nursing administration from the University of Texas in Arlington. She graduated from the HCA Healthcare Advanced Leadership program in 2021 and will graduate from the HCA Healthcare Executive Development program in late 2022.
