Our ER services

If you or a loved one is suffering from an illness or injury that requires immediate medical attention, our facility is here for you. Our ER is specially-designed to treat a range of conditions, including:

  • Heart attack treatment
  • Stroke treatment
  • On-site diagnostic services
  • Treatment for bone fractures, concussions and other injuries
  • Treatment for digestive disorders (diarrhea, vomiting)

Stroke care

Our designated Primary Stroke Center features board-certified emergency physicians, nurses and technicians who are highly trained in emergency medicine. Our stroke center is accredited by The Joint Commission, which means our program follows national standards and guidelines that significantly improve outcomes for stroke patients.

Cardiac arrest

HCA Houston West also provides a hypothermia protocol for patients who have suffered cardiac arrest. By cooling body temperature to 91 degrees, brain metabolism decreases, allowing for increased oxygen to the heart.

ER wait times and location

The ER wait time represents the time it takes to see a qualified medical professional, defined as a doctor of medicine (MD), doctor of osteopathy (DO), physician assistant (PA) or advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP).

ER wait times are approximate and provided for informational purposes only. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911.

ER wait times represent a four-hour rolling average updated every 30 minutes, and is defined as the time of patient arrival until the time the patient is greeted by a qualified medical professional. Patients are triaged at arrival and are then seen by a qualified medical professional in priority order based on their presenting complaint and reason for visit.
