Radiation oncology services

We provide the most progressive radiation oncology services in the region.

Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)

Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) involves external beam radiation. With the use of image-guided interventional radiology via CT and MRI, the tumor’s form is specifically determined, allowing the beam’s radiation dose to conform more precisely to the 3D shape of the tumor. IMRT minimizes radiation to surrounding structures. Treatment may take several weeks.

High-Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy

High-Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy is a type of internal radiation therapy that delivers high doses of radiation from implants placed close to, or inside, the tumor. Radioactive pellets are inserted through small catheters that have been placed via computer guidance. The maximum radiation dose is given to cancerous tissues, but with minimal exposure to surrounding tissues. Treatment takes one to two days.
