Southeast Houston wound care services

Many of our patients come to us with wounds they have had for months or even years. After a thorough evaluation, your wound care specialist will develop a personalized care plan designed to meet your unique needs. Our wound care specialists have experience treating various types of chronic or non-healing wounds, including:

  • Arterial and venous wounds
  • Complex soft-tissue wounds
  • Diabetic wounds of the lower extremity (DWLE)
  • Infected and traumatic wounds
  • Surgical wounds
  • Vasculitic ulcers, pressure ulcers and venous stasis ulcers

We use the most innovative therapies and advanced wound care products available to treat hard-to-heal wounds. The Advanced Wound Treatment Center offers the following advanced treatments for non-healing wounds:

  • Advanced and conventional wound dressings
  • Biological skin substitutes
  • Compression therapy
  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)
  • Negative pressure therapy
  • Offloading, including total contact casting
  • Wound debridement

At HCA Houston Southeast, we have three state-of-the-art hyperbaric oxygen chambers to improve circulation and heal severe and chronic wounds. Some conditions that may benefit from HBOT include:

  • Carbon monoxide and cyanide poisoning
  • Chronic osteomyelitis
  • Compromised flaps or grafts
  • Crush injuries and other acute traumatic ischemia
  • Delayed radiation injury (soft tissue and bony necrosis)
  • Diabetic ulcer of lower extremity
  • Gas gangrene
  • Necrotizing infections
