A sleep study, also known as polysomnography (PSG), is a way for our sleep medicine specialists to diagnose sleep disorders. During the study, a sleep medicine physician measures sleep cycles and stages by observing your breathing, blood oxygen level, heart rate and arm/leg movements as you sleep. To diagnose and treat sleep disorders, we use a variety of sleep studies and treatment methods, including:
- In-lab sleep study
- Maintenance of wakefulness test (MWT)
- Multiple sleep latency test (MSLT)
- Sleep study with positive airway pressure treatment
