Pearland announces promotion of Elias Armendariz as chief executive officer
Armendariz assumes his new role effective December 16, 2024
Houston, Texas — HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division has announced the promotion of Elias Armendariz to chief executive officer of HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland effective December 16, 2024.
Armendariz has served as the chief operating officer for HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake since August 2020. Additionally, he has served as interim chief executive officer of HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland, a campus of HCA Houston Clear Lake, since April 2024.
During his tenure at Clear Lake, Armendariz championed efforts for growth in key service lines such as cardiology, neuroscience and trauma services. Under his leadership, the facility received approval for an upcoming master campus expansion plan in excess of $100 million in capital improvements.
Armendariz first joined HCA Healthcare in March 2016 as senior vice president of operations for Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare’s San Antonio Division. He was named chief operating officer at Methodist Hospital Northeast in November 2017.
Armendariz earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and a Master’s in Nursing Systems Management from The University of Texas at El Paso. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), which recognizes his expertise and leadership in the healthcare field.
