Computed tomography (CT) 64-slice scan
Similar to a regular computed tomography (CT) scans, CT 64-slice scans combine 64 images, all from different angles, to develop an in-depth reconstruction of the organ of focus for your radiologist to review. Typically recommended for use on internal organs and soft tissue, CT 64-slice scans allow our radiologists to pinpoint potential tumors, cysts and diseases on or within various internal organs, such as the liver and the lungs.
Interventional radiologists at HCA Houston Pearland commonly use interventional radiology (IR) as a minimally invasive technique to diagnose conditions, as well as during surgeries and treatments. Using sound waves alone, ultrasound allows our radiology specialists to view certain body parts without using any radiation. The most common uses for ultrasound imaging include viewing a fetus during pregnancy and distinguishing characteristics of a mass detected during a mammogram. Additionally, ultrasound can be used to view joints to give radiologists an alternate perspective from MRIs, X-rays and CT scans.
