Our multidisciplinary joint care teams are comprised of board-certified orthopedic surgeons, rheumatologists, nurses, physical therapists and pain management specialists who provide a full range of treatment options for your individual joint needs.

Our joint care services

Normal joints are covered by a smooth layer of cartilage which prevents your bones from rubbing together. Overtime, conditions such as arthritis, serious injury or degenerative joint disease can wear down the amount of cartilage, which causes the bones to rub together and causes pain.

Joint replacement surgery is an option when there is severe damage to the joint and conservative treatments such as therapy and injections are ineffective. During surgery, the damaged bone and cartilage are removed and replaced with artificial ones. The materials used in joint replacement surgery are designed to allow artificial joints to move just as your own joints would.

Within our specialty areas, we provide access to variety of joint replacement surgeries and treatment options, including:

Hip replacement

Patients may be candidates for either a total hip replacement, partial hip replacement or hip resurfacing. The most likely candidates are those with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, bone tumors and hip pain that prevents walking, bending or doing daily activities.

Knee replacement

For those with severe knee damage, a knee replacement may be necessary. Most patients typically experience dramatic pain reduction following knee replacement surgery.

Shoulder replacement

Whether you’ve dislocated your shoulder, tore a ligament or are experiencing the pain and discomfort of tendonitis, our skilled orthopedic surgeons can help heal your shoulder injuries and get you back to the activities you enjoy.

Steroid injections

Among the most effective methods of pain relief, steroid injections work by reducing the inflammation in and around the joint. They are most often used with those suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and other types of inflammatory arthritis.

Physical therapy and rehabilitation

Used as a form of treatment or following a joint replacement procedure, patients are expected to attend physical therapy to help regain full range of motion and minimize pain.
