Tomball names Janie Garza as chief nursing officer
During her tenure at HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball, Garza has overseen significant clinical and quality advancements.
Tomball, TX – HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball recently announced Janie Garza, DNP, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, CCRN-K, as the hospital’s chief nursing officer effective January 13, 2025.
Garza joined HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball in June 2023 as the Associate CNO and quickly established herself as an effective nursing leader and invaluable partner to the Administrative and Senior Leadership Teams. During her tenure at HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball, Garza has overseen significant clinical and quality advancements.
Garza is a 20-year veteran with HCA Healthcare, having held several diverse leadership roles overseeing acute care pediatrics, PICU, neonatal services, maternal and neonatal transport, and the congenital heart program, including CICU, CVOR, Cath Lab, and ECHO.

Garza obtained her BSN and MSN from the University of Texas and recently graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Texas Christian University. Nationally, she has been a podium speaker at the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Conference, Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society and a nurse scientist finalist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Cardiology Conference. Garza has contributed to nursing science with numerous collaborative publications and presentations.
